Black and White Photos

Venture...venture...venture. The photos that I am showing to you here were taken during a church region 5 youth dinner at Siburan. But being me...I like to take close up ph0tos of faces...or some people call it portraiture. Was not really in favour to take photos of what's on the stage....hahaha.

Although I had a complete equipment for my DSLR, I decided to try things out by not using my flash light. The hall was quite dark, so I increased my DSLR ISO to the maximum - 1600 with the the speed of 1/20. Of course! The result was still dissapointing - too much noise.

But then, how to edit photos with noise? Easy. The first step is to turn your photo into black and white. Then, use noise reduction function. And finally, adjust the colour curve. Whalla! Here are the results.
(Our soon to be married couple - Sebastian and Fiona)
(The Chinese looking girl - Francine)

(The walked-in guy - I'm not sure whom he was. Hahaha)

i still have to learn how to edit such as reduce noise, etc, thanks for the tip. there are times really where we have to up our ISO especially at very low light and tripod is not allowed, so hard to hold on to the cam without shaking thus we up our ISO but like what you said, the disappointment is NOISE, but am glad to learn that there is something we can do about it. better than when there is too much vibration when taking pictures, a friend before asked me if there is a way we can straighten a picture when the image was taken with shakes or vibration? Hahaha, i laughed, since I do not know about editing and told her, " there is no technology to edit the shakes", i hope i am right?

I don't even own a DSLR! Just a normal digital camera, so I'm really a novice at shooting photos! But it's interesting what you can do to eliminate noise : )

noise reduction ya apa function nya?

I just use the feature on Photoshop or just that button on my camera to convert it to black and white without thinking of editing it even further.

Maybe it's time I learn.

Yay! What a lesson. I've got to learn how to change the ISO and the speed in my dslr.

Well, whatever noise you're talking about, I didn't hear any, hahaa! And the photos look great.

Btw, where to edit the noise? In any photo editor, like Photoshop?

Sometimes black and white photos last longer. I am not very good in taking portrait. I think the noise issues can be due to many possible causes like ISO, light condition...etc. Really not easy to take a good photo.
