A Bad Graduation Day

Graduation is supposed to be solemn, formal, traditional and organised. This graduation that I attended to receive my MBA scroll was doomed. A few points that I would like to highlight here.
This lady, I do not know her name, was the event manager. When the parents, guests and graduates were inside the ballroom, she grabbed the mic, spoke poor English and was using colloquial (bahasa pasar) language.

For example "All the people outside ah! can you please come into the ballroom and take your seats" "Eh..you all don't run away ah! later we take group photo" I think she was rude and unprofessional.
Too many staff standing at the side of the stage near the MC. I wasn't sure why they were standing there. The ballroom looked messy with people standing.

The uncontrollable crowd (parents and relatives) rushed to the stage to take photos of their children receiving scrolls. Did not know which one was the official photographer and guess what? I had a hard time to go back to my seat since they were blocking my way.

Other than that, the ballroom was noisy with graduates and parents talking and another bad thing was, the college used modern music from modern western singers for the graduation. Geee... I left the place dissastified and didn't even feel like a graduate.
My photo taken by myself hehe is published here as requested by Sumuk.

poor you. i can understand your feelings, mate. a graduation ceremony, no matter at what level, shld be a moment to saviour, a time to be proud and reflect on the hardship that one has gone thru in attaining the scroll. anyway, congrats again, mate. and no thanks to the organisers.

Yup, nothing spoils an event like a terrible event management. A moment of joy could turn into a moment of anguish in minutes. Poor you. Who was the VIp handing over the scroll? I bet he felt worst!

All the same, congratulations!

One other> To tell you the truth, it spoiled my mood. I actually left right after the event was done. I didn;t even go to join for the group photo.
Yatie > The Mc was a bit unprepared and the script was terrible.
Samantha> I can't remember but it was a female singer, something like Avril Lavigne category.
Ethel> Thanks

No strong winds blowing over the tables ah? I do not know what to do about Kuching Event Managers - they wanna cut cost maybe when they hire these folks. I attended the one for my daughter and it was damn terrible. I was almost bored to death...though I did not die I wish I had died because it was so terrible but I stayed for the sake of my daughter.
