A friend of mine brought these photos for me to see and I asked permission from that teacher to post it in my blog. The teacher told me, her students and her, spent a lot of money to beautify the classroom with nice posters and covered the notice board with satin cloths. The classroom was indeed well-taken care of. Her reason to do so was, to make sure that her students will have a comfortable classroom. Knowing her, she is dedicated and passionate about teaching. Last year, she even won "Anugerah Pekerja Cemerlang" from the school.
But one day, when she walked to school, her student ran to her to ask her to see what had happened to their classroom. She hurriedly went to the classroom and these were what she saw.
Missing satin cloths from the notice board.

Notices and posters were torn down.
She was very upset. Her classroom was vandalized. She suspected that it was done by students from the evening session.
So....how do teachers feel about teachers' day celebration now? Many years back, many teachers take pride in their jobs, as educators, and teachers day celebration is indeed very meaningful to them. Now? many of them feel that it is just another celebration because students today are different from before. Most of them don't appreciate what their teachers are doing. I wonder when will they know that teachers are important?
To us, maybe this story is not as bad as many other stories we have heard. But, to her, even a thing like this make her disappointed and sad because she felt that all her efforts were wasted. We have to be in her shoes to understand right?
Anyway...Happy Teachers' Day to all the teachers.

wo... This is too much... and worst... I've never seen this kind of worst vandalism in school... and I think, i found its hard to see this in our school... pity those teachers and students whom really takes care of the class but finally got damaged by irresponsible people... but I just can say, some students tend to be so jealous with other students or class. this maybe caused what happens in the photos taken by your friend... :D
budak-budak zaman sekarang..
ops..boleh ke cakap mcm tu?
saya dulu pun jahat gak.
Amiey > The reason for this is unknown. Thank goodness your school wasn't like that.
Ivynana > Kiter nakal nakal pun tak ler juga sampai merosakkan harta benda sekolah.
This really too much! The teacher must be very disappointed and sad. This vandalism is way to much!! Must find who the culprits and have them punished.
It is very true and sad indeed when you mentioned that teachers aren't appreciated these days.
Not all teachers are educators, some teachers merely teach.
I really sympathise your friend. I hope she doesn't give up her dedication and passion for teaching. It's very unfortunate of her to have such problem.
Ish...kenak mesti sampei jadi cemya o? Kes dengki la tok.
hmmmm..tu kdg2 susah juga kalo kelas yg berkongsi antara sebelah pagi dan petang...
kdg2 kedua2 kelas yg menggunakan kelas tu kena bersepakat..
Rose > I hope the students will get what they deserve.
Ai_Ling > hi. Yeah. Me too. Kesian her.
SiPenconteng > Dari gaya, memang kes dengki kelas cantik.
IvyMetaga > nak dapatkan kerjasama memang susah.
This must be a trouble kids..they need good counselling and couching in life..yes this is worst vandalisme..especially for the students
oh i seriously understand what she feels being a former teacher myself. kids nowadays treat like we owe them something!!!!
CalVb > Sometimes, I wonder whether counseling works or not today...
Merryn > You were a teacher? Tough right?
pity her, thats all i can say... and the students from the evening session should be punished, all of them shud be responsible for what had happened.
oh..sedih..
baruk2 tok dak mbiak sekolah aku telah melakukan vandalism yg tburuk setakat tok..bepuluh2 buah meja kerusi sik dpt d gunakan lagik setelah d musnahkan oleh mbiak..yg penting MBIAK SEKOLAH RENDAH!!

Ct > They should.
Erolnukman > Aduhai? Nembiak sekolah rendah dah berani molah macam ya? Apa agi mun sidak masuk ke sekolah menengah? Hampeh!
they're so so different with us back to our childhood. Hmmm i pun sedih if dlm lecture hall, i kat depan beria mengajar yang kat belakang seronok dengar mp3. They're so rude. Kita dulu cikgu ni ibarat mak ayah, cikgu cakap semua dengar, tak membantah.
Hmm, I think this happened to every school O_O
ps: I post that only for sharing, but it shocked me when I saw 400 unique visitors from US within the hour. I think readers prefer this kind of stuffs, but well not porn k? Haha cheers.
Good day,
Jacob
x patut, x patut..ishhkk
aduh... kasiannya cikgu ya...bila ngenang bab vandalism tok, teringat sorang kawan dari semenanjung yang mengajar kat SMB 'Sacred Heart', nya kata nya ngajar kat sekolah ya, dak cikgu2nya suma 'sakit heart'...sadis sik...huhu..
wow! The evening students must have been showing their extreme anger on something!
This sounds like a sad entry for Teachers Day. Students in the country itself, may have reacted that way due to treatment at home. They lash out at other places outside of home. Whether they do it for the fun or not seems like they're not contented about something. Maybe parents forcing 'em to achieve grades out of ego instead of their child's own will. Or either they're left to themselves without proper guidance half the time :)
ya kerja anak antu!!
Happy Teacher's Day to you and Ruby! :) a belated one.. hehehe :)
dulu-dulu, students back then rarely do this kind of thing because teachers (not just pengetua and guru disiplin) have the mandate to rotan the students. teens and kids nowadays think that gangsterism (mind the spelling..hu hu) which normally leads to vandalism is COOL. while some did this out of angst, some just doing it just for FUN. what is the world turn into? aigoo...
Question is what is the best way to teach them the good way?
Biasa.... hahahha.. no offence bro..
Just that this post reminds me a hell lot about why some of us (teachers) feel so down and stressed out nowadays. And what you mentioned above is just the tip of the iceberg. If you include parents, high rank officers, gangsters and so many more.. you will see how difficult it is... also the paper work.. I hate the paper work!!!
But the sad thing is, when the teacher's bark, the public will scold them saying that teacher relax, go back early etc etc, and should not deserve higher pay, assistants, and many other perks.
BTW, did you know that the second largest population in mental institutions are teachers?? If im not mistaken, army officers hold onto first place, but the teachers are coming up really close.
Mahirah > Memang. Some of them don't take their studies seriourly.
Jacob > Hi, thanks for your visit. Yes, it happens to many schools. Not all.
BiGgirL > Memang tak patut. Kesian cikgu yg dah bersusah payah ajar mereka.
PuteriSantubong > aku pernah ngajar di boys school, La Salle kelang. Aku sakit hati juak. Nasib bait temporary jak.
AiShiang > At young age, they can do this. What more to say when they join the morning session.
Samantha > Good points there.
Ida > Hahaha...jadi bapak nya hant lah?
Ethan'sMom > Thanks.
ElyCynthia > Dunno. The world is getting old maybe. that's why people become like this.
CyriL > YEah. You take a good care of yourself yeah? I know it is hard for you too.
Ednonymous > I really can't answer that. I'm not an expert. Sorry.
kesian ngan cikgu ya.. Kids nowadays actually not much different from our batch last time. Me too did vandalise the classroom.. a bit lar. No offence k.. Anyway It's not the Agrh Pekerja Cmerlang, It's Agrh Perkhidmatan Cmerlang.
DesignationJazz > Hahahah...vandalism erk? APC? not pekerja? hehehe biasalah...aku ni not in government bro. byk term salah. Uwahaha
