Unstoppable Development in Kuching

One of the reason why I left Kuala Lumpur is to escape from the hectic life over there especially, the traffic jams. After completing my studies there, I worked in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan but still stayed in KL. I commuted daily to work and I thought "This isn't a place for me" So I quit my job to move back to Kuching. Eight years ago, Kuching was still peaceful and quiet. But because of our National cars, it seems that people can buy cars easily and cause massive traffic jams almost in every part of Kuching. The government has to build more traffic lights and flyovers to carter for these growing numbers of cars.

What I am trying to say here is, Kuching is indeed has developed despite the political disputes in Malaysia. It shows that life goes on...people move forward without being told.and regardless of what happening in the political arena. Housing estates cropped up, rich people are building their own mansions everywhere. And those who can't afford to buy lands will choose to buy apartments.

Even Datuk Ting Pek Khing built his own mansion (another one) despite having financial difficulties before.

More and more posh apartments are coming up in Kuching.

Mansions are built non-stop to carter for the rich.

Highways and flyovers are built to carter for the heavy traffic.
Sports facilites are built for those who are looking for healthy lifestyles.

In short, I personally feel that I am lucky to be a Malaysian because, I am not left out from this development in Kuching. I have been to South America and Africa. These countries are still left behind compared to us in terms of development. Thus, I strongly believe that there are many things that they should learn from us.
