Religious Teaching Vs Emotional Control

Recent incident about this riot on the use of English to teach maths and science is a blow to my head as I am a supporter of this. As usual, it happened in Peninsular Malaysia. I guess changes are inevitable and I believe that a change is usually for our own good. Once again, I wish not to comment any further about this in my blog as it might offend some people.

Anyway, a conversation took place between me and a popular Ustaz and motivator from Kuching / Samarahan.

Me : Ustaz, adakah diperbolehkan org Islam terlibat atau mengadakan rusuhan serta demonstrasi?
(Ustaz, can the muslims be involved or organise street demonstartion or riot?)

Ustaz : Sebenarnya, Islam mengajar umatmya supaya berdamai dalam setiap perkara. Rusuhan serta demonstrasi bukanlah cara Islam. Ia ada dinyatakan dalam al-Quran.
(Actually, Islam teches his people to be peaceful in everything. Street demonstartion and riot are not Islam ways of living. It is stated in al-Quran)

Me : Jadi mengapa mereka berbuat demikian?
(So why did they do it?)

Ustaz : Saya rasa mereka terlalu terlibat dengan emosi. Dalam Islam, kita tidak boleh menyusahkan orang lain ataupun merosakkan harta benda org lain.
(I think they are emotional. In Islam, we cannot trouble other people or damage others' property)

Me : Thank you Ustaz.

Anyway, knowing the importance of English, I speak and teach my child English and he seems to speak better English than some adults. Hahaha

Having a conversation with his favourite tiger, since he does not have any "bantal busuk"

Kissing his tiger with his cheek.

Wherever he goes, this tiger will always accompany him. It reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Hahaha

It's good to do the teaching in English cause I remember back then, I have to struggle on my own to improve my english. No one to guide me and no one to correct me when I'm wrong.
