Flash Flood, Kuching

Sorry for the silence. I was away for a short break. The best way to go for a break or to apply for an annual leave is non-other than during the school break, because there is less traffic. During my break, I saw many teachers in town, bringing their kids around and shopping. Geee... I wish I can do so. My job now requires me to work 5 days a week from 8 Am to 5 Pm. And I am glad to hear from my long lost friend who is a teacher at a rural school, Manteros. He's a blogger too.

Well... a little bit about my journey and what I did during the holiday. I hope you guys will not fall asleep reading my post because these were just common things to do during the break.

I started my journey to Serian at 5 pm. I was caught in a heavy traffic jam from 9th mile to 12th mile. The que was extraordianary long. There was a flash flood ahead and many motorbikes could not cross the flood. Some cars broke down while trying to cross the flood.

This flash flood was seen in front of JPJ Kuching headquarters at 11th mile. You could not see the road anymore. It took me almost an hour to get out from this area. When I reached Serian, I was really tired, but I continued my journey to Tebedu.

So I spent two days in Tebedu. The next day, my brother in-law came back for a school holiday. He was in a rural school too. He planned to go to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for a short vacation with his friend. So, we had to send him to the Airport. Upon reaching airport, he treated us with a heavy meal, the McDonald. You see, my son enjoyed it very much.

Since my son enjoyed this ride, my wife paid for it. And he really laughed out loud during the ride.

Well...we spent a few hours touring Kuching town. When we reached Serian, we stopped at a Chinese stall to eat. The food there was nice and cheap. Bravo!

Well...there were many things we did during the holiday, but I didn't manage to take photos of them. I guess... that's all from me today. Tata!

I seldom take break during school holiday. Its kind of fun driving to work, when there's less car on the road. Yes, traffic jam is my major 'turn-off' to work every morning ;)
