Me, on board a ship
One of the memorable experience in my life is crossing the Atlantic Ocean from Africa. We were heading for the United States. I never thought that one day, instead of watching the discovery channel or reading wikipedia, I will experience crossing the sea by myself. I would like to share this first hand experience with other bloggers, who knows, you might be doing the same too. It took us two weeks to travel by the sea.
Not only it is dangerous, you have to submit to its ritual. It is a culture and ritual that sailors have to be presented, punished and recognised by the sea King or else, the ship will sink. Sailors believe this and I couldn't run away from the punishment they prepared for us, the newbies.
This was the ship that I boarded to cross the Atlantic Ocean. It's not a cruise but a construction barge.
I had to fly there. Usually we will use Superpuma helicopter with 12 seaters.
I was tortured.
After I was tortured and received my recognition from the Sea King, I received this rare certificate. Only seamen who crossed the Atlantic Ocean will get it. I was given the name "Atlantic Stingray". One of the best experience in my life, I would say.

You know.. after a series of happenings in my personal life, this thought came into my mind last night, that I should go and find a job on a cruise and travel the ocean! Must be interesting.
Mummy > Speechless?
Bb > Rare experience too.
Kris & Nadia > Not all the time. THere are ups and downs.
Ethel > If you are still single, go ahead. Will be nice to travel around the world, like i did. I had been to many countries.
Torchured? what is that? is it some kind of an initiation rite? how do the ladies go about it?
for someone who love the beach, im fairly scared of open sea.
Didn't know that you were a seaman before. Must have lots of exciting experiences and adventures.
