"I am so lonely" says the dog. Oh well..this week, due to work, we couldn't go back to kampung. I guess this dog must have missed us so much, although it does not belong to us. Whenever we go back to kampung, we will feed him with lots and lots of food.
(Dog is a man's best friend. Do you agree?)
Anyway, today I would like to talk about loneliness at our workplace. Have you ever heard about this saying? "It does not matter how many friends you claim to have. What matter is, how many people accept you as a friend" A few days ago, I was asked by a friend to apply for a transfer to my wife's workplace. The first sentence that came out of my mouth was "Oh no no no no!" I said. People might be confused with how I responded to his question but again I would say, it is a matter of personal preference. I just can't accept the thought of working under the same roof with my wife.
I know for some people, working together with their wives or husbands in the same office is like "Alice in wonderland". However, I feel couples who work in the same office seem to be the loneliest people on earth. Of course I am not saying all couples!. But most of them! I have worked in many firms before and I met people who were married and worked in the same office.
One of them, whom I knew a few years back, were so attached to each other that they didn't socialize with other people. One day, his wife was on a sick leave and he approached me asking me out for lunch. Although I said nothing about it, but in my mind, I was saying to myself..."errr...hello! where were you when your wife was here? I thought you have forgotten about us? was I invincible before to you? " You see...making friends with other people when your other half is not around seems to be a selfish behaviour.
Husband and wife who work in the same office, should not restrict or refrain themselves from socialising with other people. Maybe it is hard to do so because that's what they call Love but then, we are not living in a world of our own right? Nevertheless, having said all these, I really respect a few teachers in my school who know to distinguish between work and marriage life whenever they are in the office together. The two of them are friendly to other staff and they are easy to bring out for a drink. It is a two thumbs up for them.
To end my write up, allow me to show you my other macro shot of a beautiful flower I did last weekend. Sorry eh! I do not know its name.

True, one can have people around them yet still be lonely.
I wouldn't want to work in the same office with my husband. I treat my working hours as my independent time, and I can socliase and network freely. My husband feels the same way too.
i think that is bunga kertas.
No one dare to disturb a couple. even after married, social life is still important. It is better not to work with spouse, because sometimes it may be hard to be very professional.
Usually working in the same office incurs higher risk when there is a economic crisis.
Both may lose job at the same time.
Aaa... Bunga kertas... Lam bahsa omputeh bourgenvilla...
Dog is a man's best friends. this is so true!! :)
I feel it is better for couples to work in different office. Nice closeup shot....real bright colours!
nang jak bunga kertas hehe.. situasi padah dirik mmg benar, mun keja sama opis mun sik pandei magik masa ngan kwn2 kelak jadi alien, sik bercampor ngan kwn2 opis yg lain :)
it is ok to work under the same roof but one must learn to differentiate between the roles in the home n in the office
I juz move in n work in the same roof wit my wife this year. So far so good...
It's all depends on the couple themselves i think, they have to accept the fact that they were not alone in the workplace. But if it's me,like you I will not want to work together with my wife, not because it will alter my privacy but the risk of arising conflicts quiet possible. Anyway nice macro photo you got there :)
Alice in Wonderland...now that sounds familiar :)
i also agree that couple doesnt need to be together all the time lar jelak nanti hahahahahhaha.....
If a dog doesn't bite me then it's my bestfriend, lol!
I often experienced being alone at my job on the first day or month, depending on the people around me. But I don't think I could work in the same roof as my hubby is.
Not so nice for couple to work under the same roof lah,, unless it is business of our own,,,
yu have a great week ahead, bro
I wouldn't want to work with close friends or family. Sometimes, the best of friends and family end up as the worst of enemies in the workplace. Same goes with relatives. It's easier to work with people you do not know.
huhu...me n my husband work under the same roof...but, since both of us are usually bz we only get to talk with each other after work...so, no problem so far..hehe. anyway, as long as we maintain our relationship with other frens and not too stuck up with each other, i dun think there shud be any problem...
