Being a Malaysian, I keep hold of our 5 national principles especially the first one, that is "We believe in one God". In my opinion, Malaysia is really a wonderful country, as it allows people to freely practice and perform their religions as long as their actions do not interfere with the Islamic affairs as an official religion of the country. Of course, living in this wonderful country, I learn to be tolerant with other people from different religions and races. I have captured wonderful wedding photos for the Muslims and Christians and I am looking forward to taking photos of Chinese and Indian weddings in the near future.
Last Friday, Sarawak declared a public holiday to celebrate Good Friday and some schools were even close on Monday to celebrate Easter Monday. According to our priest, we should celebrate Easter instead of Christmas because it marks the rise of Jesus Christ from the cross. So, last Sunday, our church members held open houses. It was interesting and fun. From what I noticed, since the coming of Revd. Trevor to our church, the members are going through tremendous spiritual growth.
One of the thing that he encouraged us to do when praying is to lift up our hands. At first, I was confused, but later, he explained that raising your hands when praying is a symbolic of releasing the power of Jesus to what you pray and it is an act of worship and humility. Today, I see our church members love to raise their hands when praying.
What a privilege to capture these moments of worship using my DSLR.

nice...very natural....more pics to come? hehehehe
Now I understand the significance of lifting ones hands. I see some people pray that way and didn't understand why because I pray with my hands together. As for me, all religions really points to one source. It's just that we call that source Christianity, Buddhism, Muslims, Hinduism, and so on.

In my church we have members praying with hands together and also raising hands. Both are acts of worship. I pray your church members will continue to grow spiritually. God bless you and family.
