Buying Souvenirs in KK

As I was about to go back from Kota Kinabalu, I was thinking of what to buy for my friends and family in Sarawak. I remembered someone told me that the best souvenirs to bring home are the "Kuih cincin"(Ring crackers) "Kuih Lidah" (Tongue crackers) and fish ball crackers. Sorry eh...I really do not know the English names for those crackers I mentioned. Hehehe...

The best part about buying all these souvenirs is that, the market is just opposite our hotel. It is just 5 minutes walk. Of course, at that time, 5 minutes can be tiring since i have to carry my 14kg son on my arms. Hahaha...i sweat a lot at that time and it seemed ages to reach the market. My wife was really excited when she saw all the crackers sold in the market. They are not really expensive. We can even bargain the price when we bought a few packets of them.
The picture on the left is the souvenirs and gifts shops. There are too many of them. I got confused when I saw the items sold inside the building. Again, if you buy in bulk, they will give you up to 30 percent discounts. I brought back packets of beautiful sabah key chains from here. Mind you, the place is really crowded and narrow. If you are big in size like me, you will surely have a hard time to go through the walkway.

Outside the souvenir building, I saw a few people, mostly men, offering sewing service. Their business is simple. They sit in front of the building, together with their sewing machine, and if anybody need their service to sew their pants or shirts, they can do it on the spot.

I think this is a creative idea of making extra money.

The market looks fun to browse with all the colors, and the sewing service is interesting.
