Buying Curtains

I remember I spent RM500 back in the year 2000 for a simple curtain which was made a by a local shop. No doubt the fabric is nice but it is rather too expensive for just One medium size window.

While walking at Serikin, I saw many Indonesians selling beautiful curtains. Although the material is not as good as mine, but they are still worth buying. I was amazed by the design and simplicity of the curtains. I saw many people buying the curtains.

The best part is that, we can always bargain the price with the sellers. They are willing to negotiate with the price. But since my intention to go there was not to buy a curtain, i didn't bring any home.

I am sure that, during festive seasons, many people will come here to buy the curtains. I should thank the Indonesians for providing us more choices of curtains and give us more bargaining power. If we buy in our local stores, it is really hard to bargain and we really lose our power to bargain.

We all know that consumers have the right to exercise their bargaining power right? So, why not use it now? If the local stores cannot give us good prices, then we opt to other places right? Hehehe.

I have never bought curtains in my entire life! :)

The ones I use at home were sewn by a relative.

Well bro, sometimes we cant equate price with quality, taste and our desire, you know?

but as long as you are satisfied with what you buy, then that's most satifying lio.

take care now bro, and have a great week ahead

I heard that you should always bargain the prices lower when you shop in any Asian flea markets. Is that true? I've never bargain simply because that's the practice where I live. I think the store will call security and toss you out :).

I just put up a curtain in the living room today...it's getting too cold now so that can help yield the cold. 500 is pricey!

I like the colors of the curtains in your photos. How great that you can bargain for better prices. Because they are so expensive here, I have one pair of curtains the rest of the windows have blinds.

Curtains are so simple to make that we should bargain. If they cannot give us a good price we can make our own.
