Imperial International Hotel

Before I visited Sabah. I did a thorough research from the internet and friends. I even chatted with a blogger Angel Bear from Sabah, through facebook, on tips of getting around Sabah. One thing I noticed that, not all hotels in Sabah are listed in Sabah official maps (the hardcopy, produced by Sabah Tourism Board). Thus, finding hotels through google.com is very much helpful. That's how I discovered Imperial International Hotel (also based on Chegu Carol suggestion)
(It is located in the city centre. It is attached to Plaza Warisan and next to Sabah popular shopping centre, Centre Point)

Centre Point is a great shopping centre because it has a lot of shops inside. I was amazed to look at the great many of people inside the shopping mall.
(Don't be surprise that the signboard of this hotel is very small and it is just this. You won't find the signboard on the wall itself. So, you can easily miss this place)
(The hotel rooms were designed with studio and contemporary concepts. It has one big red bed chair. My son loved it so much because the chair can turn 360 degrees)
(This is the entrance. They provide one nice bathroom and a closet with a safe deposit box)
(We can look at the sea from this window. Meet my mother in-law)
(The photos of the room)

The room is beautiful, but a bit expensive. Probably because it is located near the waterfront and shopping centres. However, staying here will save you on transportation cost.

I was in Sandakan in April this year and I stayed at quite a nice hotel (near the waterfront) just a couple of hours before my flight back to KL. Can't remember the name of the hotel but it was a very good one. I love the location and the facilities. Wish I had stayed more days in Sandakan.

I have visited central point during my KK trip, it is small comparable to the shopping malls over here.

It looks like a very comfortable hotel and beautiful too. Like your son, I would be tempted to sit the red chair.

I think the price is okay because the room looks so good and if it's just within the meets of the necessary places it's a good place to stay.
