Nikon D60 or Canon 1000D?

Hi there,

Are you interested in photography? Wondering what DSLR camera to buy to kick off being a pro-photographer? well...I started off with experimenting my A560 Canon Powershot Digicam. I played with subjects' angle and did many macro shots on all the subjects I discovered. Then I decided to invest in a DSLR.

Nikon and Canon has been good to us (please don't ask me about other brands). They produced DSLRs that are affordable without neglecting the quality. Of course the more expensive cameras like D90 and Eos 5D MarkII, will give better and professional photos. But then, my advice to beginners, who are concerned about budget, you can either buy a Nikon D60 or a Canon 1000D or a Canon 450D. The only thing that you need to invest more is on the lenses. Lenses help greatly in making your photos great. To bring your photo to another level, be friendly to photoshop software. Master it, and you will be surprised, on how great the effects are on your photos.
The two photos I took here were coincidence photos. Remember we had rainy days before. Well, this was the first time i saw three-layered sky (like 3-layered teh C peng. Hahaha). because as you can see, the sky was divided into black, blue and white colours. For photographers, they have the term "the magic moment" which refers to sunset and sunrise. But my magic moment is this: three-layered sky, because it is something that is rarely seen.

Noted : All photos above were adjusted by increasing the colour contrast to show the colour distinction.

Once you start with a slr, it's no looking back to point and shoot. At least that's true for me.

I agree that it's better to invest in good lenses than a expensive camera body.

You are right. It's the lenses that make all the difference and not the cameras. That's the part most people get it wrong.

Oh! I forgot to ask. Do you use Photoshop CS4?

Nicksuneo > Thank you. Makin tua lah kamek tok.

Jay > If you like it, you can invest in a DSLR.

Becklee > Thank you so much for the birthday wish!

AiShiang > Lenses are very helpful, but the body will provide certain advantages especially when we have a studio. I a musing CS4 but unfortunatelyI still fail to master the funstions. Geee...I need a proper class for this.

camera body oso play some part in the overall picture quality u get for example in canon...DiGiCIII is the processor that capture the image ur taken with the camera...with good L lenses and camera body without the processor it is nothing..hehe...some other things that differ in each dslr is live view, dual CMOS system, Video, High ISO capability, megapixels and some other features...

Canon 1000D is a good camera. I have done my comparison, it shows the detail better than Nikon.

i think canon's noted as the best for digi cams but i don't really mind what i use too much...i'm more of a photo hobbyist and not into pro photos too much

Norris > Kalau ada rezeki, boleh invest yg mahal skit.

Claire > No problem Claire. Share with us, once u get your DSLR.

Kurekiyo > Some of those are accessories. But it is true of what you said bro. No doubt!

Bengbeng > I am not difference from other people. Don't feel humble.

Krisno > uih? main tiket?

Rainfield > On the other hand, according to a digital camera magazine assessment, Nikon D60 is better than Canon 1000D.

Rudy > benar madah u. Even digicam pun u mesti master the kamera.

Pete > you'r welcome

Ayie > Generally Canon is the best. However, i do not want to be influenced by their aggressive campaign. Adverts and campaign can be deceiving sometimes.

Yay, before hubby bought the DSLR cam, he was pressured as to which one between Canon and Nikon. In the end he chose Nikon, well, he has the reasons.

Really great looking three-layered sky. And of course it's the magic moment, too.

Willie a.k.a Reptoz said...

Ida > Canon is a good choice.

Cyril > Thanks a million

Marlene > I hope to discover more magic moments.

My fren, any type of DSLR camera if the price more than 5k is good! Canon, nikon or whatever the brand is still the same.
