Telaga Air Homestay. Matang

The investigator

Homestay programme is not an ordinary vacation plan as it involves tourist to experience "kampung" life. There's not so much of sight seeing but rather to experience the local culture food and traditions. Telaga Air was a popular homestay destination especially when our ex-prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir went there to officiate the new airport building plan in Matang. We did an investigation of whether the homestay there is still in business or had close down.

The Fish Market

The waterfront

The famous Telaga Air

Fishermen boats

The verdict is..... the homestay there is not active anymore. They need to be revived. I guess it is because not many tourists choose to take up our homestay programme. Many of them prefer sight seeing.

Since this place is no longer active in business, maybe they should now start promoting this homestay programme further.Seems to be a good cultural experience for our foreign guests provided all the comforts of basic amenities are made available.

Hahaha...As pointed out by One Other,it seems that I need to garner huge capital and conduct major research and consultation on the monetary and long-term viability of this business.Worth considering though...on the condition that Willie sits on the board of directors too hahaha...

willie! running around discovering new things everyday as usual :) i think the people who are truly interested in culture and food would be the locals tracing back their roots somehow.
